There is no doubt that the awori and the ilajes were the first to settle in Lagos prior to 16th century when Benin people came led by prince Ido settled land quarrel with the awori.The first ruler in Lagos was Ashipa probably had links with ogbomoso where the Ashipa title came from but the king was prince Ido.
The aworis had major land ownership in Lagos.For instance,Oniru family owns victoria island,olumegbon owns ajah,da Rocha owns onikan.The father of aworis olofin and aworis in general came from osun state.
