Trials In Progress

My cousins in both sides of the patriarchal and matriarchal authorities
Had dark pathetic eyes about me and my family
Serious rivalry among family gathering
I think it was the same every where around the world
Maybe one or two were considerate about me
At the least they could do mocking accolades
Not psychological diatribes if my conjecture of body languages and metalanguages permit me
Genealogies are caught in quagmire of inter generational malediction
And malignant tumours could not fly
Away where the avarice and derision rides
I gained mastery of dictionary with uncommon proficiency at class four ,five
And wrote my first but lost novel at 10
They sell electronics downstairs and we lived upstairs
My cousins occasionally come upstairs
To relax and take a short snap in our rooms
They barely sleep but when they come
We banter till day dusk and ready for them to go home.
My ovation grew up in their derision upon the cognizance of the intellectual prowess
Awareness about same thirst grew in their family
It took me ages for my reflection to gain mastery
Then i was agog in the competition I barely knew.
Derision flew right left and center tis my departure
When details of my brother's itinerary broke open
It was ridiculously derided across the board
And till date I still wonder what the need for derision
Within lineages and genealogies and family tree
To the point of fetish expedition and diabolical spells
A typical African spirit and we relocated to Lagos
In aftermath of fetish substance dug up from late father's factory floor
When exhumed unveiled the mystery behind the crash of this family silver
Homeless in Lagos for quite awhile
We survived thereafter and luckily enough
In the seventh times'attempt we became landlords too in the megacity
Ordeals by landlords meted out to innocent folks
Too many a vile we could not recall
Life is a journey of trials and griefs
At the end of the darkish tunnels and rainbow in the sky
Glorious sun arises.
Trials in progress better than trials in prison
