Wole Soyinka:The man with the World Greatest Revolution.part two

American writers took up the giant strides not where the British copy cats left off but much worse in an entirely new vista that sent shivers down the spines of world literary society.Littlewonder they were subject to harsh criticism by the British "
"Really?"
"Of course you hear me right because they couldn't produce authentic works and why would they in the first place because foreigners did for their masters and fought for them.It was like the same situation in Nigeria Yoruba fought for Nigeria in the civil war or that the Ogbomosho warriors known and popular warriors fought for Yoruba every time of the war.The same Ogbomosho warriors that colonised Europe for 800 years in the region Iberian peninsula now known as Spain and Portugal.
"You mean Ogbomosho warriors? What was the name of this group in question?"
"They were called the moor during the time of mansa Musa another Yoruba king the king of ufe now ife also ruled over mali for which he was popularly known as king of Mali with major achievement gold rich and built Timbuktu the third oldest university in Africa with the biggest library to rival library of Alexandria in Egypt then biggest and oldest.Sorry for digression please. They were heavily criticized by the British."
"Uhhhhmmmm.Copy cats!"
"Yes copy cat-- Americans too were subject to harsh criticism .You know the hard earned American war of liberation(1775-1783) was the first hard earned colonial power"
"First colony to fight for victory and freedom?"
"Exactly.so it is understandable why their books were harshly criticized before and after the American revolution. They too were heavily dependent on British which was why their books were harshly criticized. What do you expect mother copy cat to do as at the time to her copy cat toddler?"
"Jesus !I can't believe it "
"Better do.Americans themselves were painfully conscious of their too much dependence on the English literal models.Need I say that until 1816 the search for native literature never became a national obsession.Understood ?"
"Yeah.i never knew even the American society took off on sour grape."
"Yes they did and the rest of the colonies. An editor of magazine that criticized this malaise during the period lamented the state of dependency as a.........."state of degradation fraught with disgrace and to be dependent on a foreign mind for what we can produce ourselves is to add to the crime of indolence the weakness of stupidity ".
"Weakness of stupidity!"
"It would take america another fifty good years in a frequency of cumulative checkered antecedence to earn her cultural independence and produced epochal works of arts "
"Now those writers name them ?"
"They were so lazy too but they quickly recovered and lazily America produced her first generation of world class literary figures. The first generation of American writers include Washington Irving, James Fenimore Cooper,Ralph Waldo Emerson,Henry David Thoreau ,Helman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne,Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe and Emily Dickinson ."
"Why do you think it slows down so much?"
"It was because of laziness and the exploration of fabled but lingering identication with england .There was excessive imitation of English or classical literary models and the inherent publishing difficulty catapulted by bad economic conditions.Infact in fashion and behavior also immitated the English and in almost every thing"
.Why would fifty years after their fame in England, Joseph Addison, Jonathan swift,Richard Steele, Alexander pope,Oliver Goldsmith and Samuel Johnson by portrait and Infuence still relevant in America ?"
"It was because of the same problem of immitation that lingered for so long before they could regain their consciousness. They were still being immitated and copied eargerly in America.
If you think the British were lazy but the Americans were lazier pioneered and took pyracy to the peak never seen before and so lazy to use their brains.Little wonder Benjamin Franklin the first self made in America according to David Hume taught them to use their common sense and not to be lazy.Due to the pyracy of anything British and Americans writers could not live on writing in a country where excessive pyracy destroyed the work of arts. The highpoint of pyracy in 1815 corresponds to the low point of American publishing . After they separated from Britain for the early writers writing did not pay,had no mordern publishers,no audience and no sufficient legal protection where editorial assistance, distribution and publicity were shallow, unimpressive and rudimentary.Apparently lack of audience and a worse case scenario lack of copyright law stagnated publishing.Regardless of the fact most American authors in 1825 paid printers to publish my works only few independently leisured wealthy individuals like Washington Irving and the new York Knickerbocker group or the group of Connecticut poets under brand name of Hartford Wits could pen their thoughts in writing.Benjamin Franklin rose from a poor family a self made printer could publish his own book. When Charles Brockden Brown author of several romance Gothic novels tried too but ended and died in poverty.Pyrates like Franklin grew extremely wealthy but most through reprinted volume of English authors and partly contributed to low patronage and demand in the Americans.Imported authorized English versions and editions were quite expensive and still heavily pyrated. Cooper's first book "Spy" was pyrated within one month of publication by four different printers .The likes of Michael Carrey another London printer based published and indulged in pyracy paid spies to bring  pyrated copies of British authors to America.Printers awashed America engaging in pyracy at unprecedented proportion.Hence barely learned from history. After the copyright law of 1790 drafted by Noah Webster that protected only American authors and did not go down well with the British. So pyracy destroyed first revolutionary generation of American writers and thereafter the generation after them collapsed too. Nevertheless the cheap source of pyrated books did educate them in the first fifty years and prepared the minds of lazy thinkers for the next big wave at a cost of pyrated content as they began to appear after 1825.I hadn't read all these tides and facts beyond the book Alexander Hamilton the black man who founded america and greatest man ever. I got the first feelings from the book to uncover the secrets of Americans as lazy people in the early republic successive searches confirmed this truth .Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac was published in 1732 and published in series made him rich.It was annual book of amusements useful encouragement advice and factory of factual information and has amusing characters like old father Abraham, poor Richard exhort the reader in a memorable sayings and pithy ways such as 'The Way To Wealth', that first appeared in the Almanac Father Abraham a plain clean old man with white locks that quote Richard at length.Quotes such as Early to bed early to rise,"A word to the wise is enough "or God help them that helps themselves " or what makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise he often counsels hardwork that diligence is the mother of goodluck,or do not be lazy"he says" for one today is worth two tomorrow etc.
Take a look at all American writers who can you compare with wole Soyinka?"
"Thomas Paine "
"That wrote only pamphlet on common sense?"
"But it secured Americans independence and quite a profound influence.First three months sold over 200,000 copies"
"Then after that what next? Soyinka wrote the first play at independence Dance of forest and wrote kongi harvest Nigeria's first featured film in 1970 first film in 1963.None of the American writers even British can be compared to him"
What about Shakespeare and Wordsworth?"
"Have you not heard Shakespeare is a mythical figure bare exist that most of the works could have been credited to Francis Bacon?"
Then Wordsworth "
"Even Wordsworth not as talented and influential as wole Soyinka.See J.D.Salinger, the author of catcher in the rye,From Harper Lee to Stephen king,Maya Angelou, Theodore Geisel , Scott Fitzgerald you cannot compare them to kongi.Ernest Hemingway , William Faulkner , John steinbech and Tony Morrison won a Nobel each and that is final,Mark Twain , Edgar Allan Poecannp hil"

Based on what you said so the Greeks didn't really write they stole diverse work of arts from Egypt right?"
"Exactly,you heard me right".
"That the British too didn't really write except that they copied more from foreigners like vikings Normans and the rest of them right?"
"Yes, exactly "
"That wole Soyinka is the greatest writer and most influential writer in the history of the world who saw all his labour in his lifetime both directly or directly and the  most versatile writer in the world".
"Exactly "
"Also that the greatest gift black man ever had during and after slavery of slave trade is wole Soyinka and the greatest black man of all time and that no black comes close.Right?"
"Exactly.Let me help you if the Romans too were copy cats like the Greeks and the British cannons did the same does that really not tell you something?"
"Like what?"
That lazy writers dominated the world literary scenes with no commensurable power whatsoever beyond the militarisation of the their global economic power and yoked with stolen world. It was due to this technical error that made pyracy so difficult a global nightmare to deal.
