Assuming a lady do a progesterone test on day 21 of her menstrual cycle and was assured of getting pregnant but then when she did a pregnancy test then it was negative,what really happened?

See in such situation this is what happened because we need to understand a woman's cycle.After menstruation the next phase is the follicular phase when the body start releasing different hormones like follicles active in stimulation of hormones to work on your ovaries to produce mature follicles and inside this follicles the egg stays.The expectation is that when the follicle become big the egg inside must also have been mature prior to being released during ovulation.

You know after this stage comes ovulation stage and the prepared egg at the follicular stage get mature and the follicle ruptures then there will be release of this mature egg from follicle into the fallopian tube.You know that is when they say ovulation has happened or lady has ovulated to indicate that she has released egg.

Then comes the lacteal stage That is when a female body start preparing the womb for implantation.Let's say during ovulation there was intercourse and body preparing to accept the pregnancy or embryo that develops after fertilization.Then the ovary releases progesterone which acts on the inner most layer of the womb which is the endometrium.Hence it nourishes it enrich it to prepare it for implantation.See if there is sexual intercourse during ovulation and fertilisation occurs.So to say the fact the body starts preparing itself with the help of progesterone enriching the endometrium for unimpeded implantation . When the fertilized egg from the fallopian tube becomes embryo and travel to the womb but if the body is not producing enough progesterone one thing is clear it will affect implantation.That is medical expert use to progesterone test to see to the performance welfare of the womb. Remember it does not indicate enough progesterone guarrantee pregnancy but to undertake to prove welfare of the womb.Sometimes if the womb not clean up it can affect pregnancy.
