As of April 2026, Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona remains the largest stadium in Europe. While it is currently undergoing a massive €1.45 billion renovation, it has partially reopened for matches and is gradually increasing its capacity.

The stadium is operating under a phased reopening. As of March 2026, the capacity increased to 62,657 after the North Goal section was activated. It is expected to reach its full 105,000 capacity with a new roof by the start of the 2027/28 season.

Narendra Modi Stadium: Reconstructed in 2020, it is the home of the Gujarat Titans and will host multiple matches during the 2026 IPL season.
Rungrado 1st of May Stadium: Often cited with a capacity of 150,000, modern all-seater reconfigurations have brought the estimated usable capacity down to approximately 114,000.
North American Dominance: Eight of the world's top 10 largest stadiums are in the United States, nearly all of which serve collegiate American football teams.
Future Contenders: Several massive projects are currently underway that could change these rankings by the end of the decade. For instance, the Trống Đồng Stadium in Vietnam is designed to hold 135,000, with an expected completion date in 2028.
