Hamiltonian America .Sons of liberty.chapter 9.page three.

"Did you say 1775 epoch was entirely different ball game?"
"Yeah in a way in that late spring when the delegates to the second continental Congress..."
"You mean the new England delegates right...?"
"Exactly .It was a season of pride and high optimism as well as a motley of pandemonium.I think they moved through Philadelphia on May 6,as they bombarded rooftops, hallways, streets, doorways, stoops with boisterous cavorting and gallivantings topped by mellifluous clanging of church bells. They truoped out in their thousands."
"Why so much agog? The battle of freedom reached a crescendo?"
"Of course it was a new dawn because the unenlightened folks resisted the first continental Congress. The old loyalists assembly had rejected the attempt to send delegates to the first continental Congress. It was replaced by new York provincial congress after it was dismantled. They convened in Pennsylvania state house now called independence hall with influential delegates in Philip Schuyler future father in law of Hamilton and George Clinton first governor of new York and Hamilton's future political nemesis.Armed conflict was inevitable in the face of pleadings and prayers for amicable standoff on may 10 from most colonists.Though it did not have a standard structure for authentic political system or government like the army, tax system, currency,as basic prerequisites it was a closer attempt for the revolutionary struggles and was dubbed the first government of the united states albeit in pell-mell fashion. The basic obligation was to appoint the head of the government."
"So to say commander in chief right?"
"Exactly.George Washington was named the head of the continental army "
"Any virtual experience?Did I hear a forty three?"
"Yeah forty three but not without experience and expensive titles.Did you know that humblest Virginian ever seen fought in the indian and french war?"
"Uhmmmm.impressed!"
"And for pragmatic reason that went beyond talent , experience and expertises who wore his army uniform and winced with artful poise but he was said to be sober, calm and steady. On June 15 he was named the head of the army to lead the unified colonies and not regional scrabble.Since his state constituted one fifth of the population Virginia which felt entitled, was reserved the prestige of the leadership role and his selection was one of the attempts by the north to placate the south.
At Breed's Hill or rather at Bunker Hill north of Boston furious battle took place when over four hundred Americans were murdered and a thousand British casualties recorded."
"Over four hundred.....quite alot"
"That included a dozen officers on the British side and the invincibility myth of the British was instantly quashed.Still not perturbed about colonist unorthodox fighting method and disregard for gentle men rules of engagement. They hid behind trees to launch sporadic attracks on their targets and they immediately retreat after hitting their targets and according to a scandalized British Soldier"what an unfair method of carrying on a war!"
"Unorthodox style."
"Hamilton suggested that pattern of warfare as noted in one if his essays.Shortly after the battle Washington took over office after a stop in New York moved over to Cambridge, Massachusetts to assume command.
