The Intellectual Abyss .Part one

The blogger ibikunle Abraham laniyan authors new series of sonnets to explore theme around the overwhelming pedigree and vast nature of knowledge.

Sonnets 1: The overwhelming nature of vast knowledge.
Behold the labyrinthine corridors,
Where valetudinarians repose;
The intellectual and ancient lores,
In unintelligible verse disclose.
A recapitulation of the past,
Illuminating every shadowed thought,
With magnanimity so thick and vast,
In philosophical refinement wrought.
Yet insignificance remains the goal,
Amidst extraordinary circumstance;
Incomprehensibility of soul,
In multisyllabic and wild deliverance.
For beauty is a transient delight,
Surviving only in the spirit’s light.
Sonnet II: The Stygian Architecture
Theme: Gothic decay and forgotten structures.
The dilapidation of the monument,
Suggests a subterranean despair;
With architectural abandonment,
In melancholy and the chilly air.
Ecclesiastical and grand design,
Now antediluvian and gray with age;
Where superstitions and the ghosts entwine,
Upon this desolated and broken stage.
A reformation of the mortal mind,
Necessitating solitary dread;
In tapestries the centuries unkind,
Have woven for the unremembered dead.
Though reputation fades like morning mist,
The darkness will eternally persist.
Sonnet III: The Pathological Ordeal
Theme: Medical and scientific dread.
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsili-
Covolcanoconiosis fills the lung;
A pathological and deadly plea,
In languages of misery unsung.
Prognostication of a grim disease,
Necessitating immediate relief;
With unavoidable and sharp degrees,
Of incommunicable and heavy grief.
The pharmaceutical and cold regime,
Of antithetic and corrosive cure;
Is but a temporary and hollow dream,
That mortals must periodically endure.
For biological and brief is breath,
Before the unavoidable of death.
Sonnet IV: The Linguistic Conundrum
Theme: The complexity of language

Sonnet IV: The Linguistic Conundrum
Theme: The complexity of language itself.
Floccinaucinihilipilification,
Of lexicographical and mighty skill;
A total metamorphical creation,
That intellectuals strive to fulfill.
Sesquipedalian and dense decree,
Of circumlocution and the vague intent;
Inextricably bound to liberty,
In venerated and strange argument.
Polysyllabically we strive to speak,
Commemorating ancient etymology;
Though definitions are obscure and weak,
Within this unoriginal anthology.
Let pedantries obliterate the weak,
As definitions are the truths we seek.
Sonnet V: The Astronomical Silence
Theme: The terrifying scale of the universe.
Intergalactically the void expands,
In unimaginable and cold excess;
Beyond the limitations of the hands,
Or mathematical and vast finesse.
The constellations in alignment glow,
Precipitating universal fear;
While gravitational and silent flow,
Suggests a cataclysmic end is near.
Extraordinary is the stellar birth,
Yet temporary is the solar flame;
Away from insignificant and dusty Earth,
Where none remember a familiar name.
For cosmos is a multisyllabic sea,
Of endless and dark originality.
