The Soft Power of Goldmine

The Soft Power of Goldmine
In 2024, "Burnaboy" and "Wizkid" aren't just names on a playlist—they are economic engines. The "Orange Economy" (creative arts) is the stealth weapon of African growth. For every dollar generated by a stream, five more circulate in fashion, tourism, and digital services.
We are witnessing the "Korean Wave" of the South, but with a younger, more digital-native workforce. Governments that pivot from oil-dependency to intellectual property protection will win the next decade. The real "black gold" isn't under the ground in the Niger Delta; it’s inside the minds of the Gen Z creators in Accra and Johannesburg. To ignore the African creator economy is to ignore the most potent soft power shift of the 21st century.
