Sonnet 13 on World Philosophy

The Great Way (Taoism)
The vessel’s value lives within the void,
The window’s use is where the wall is not.
By seeking gain, the spirit is destroyed;
By letting go, the truest path is wrought.
Like water carving canyons through the stone,
The softest thing subdues the rigid mind.
The Way is traveled best when left alone,
Leaving the frantic, grasping world behind.
No name can hold the truth of what is real,
No map can trace the breathing of the wind;
To find the center of the spinning wheel,
One must forget where busy thoughts begin.
The sage remains within the quiet hall,
Doing nothing, yet accomplishing it all.
