Sonnet 11 on World Philosophy.

The Moral Law (Kantianism)
I do not ask what brings the most delight,
Nor seek the path that offers easy rest;
I look within to find the steady light,
And put my private longings to the test.
Could every soul perform the deed I do?
Could this one act become a law for all?
If truth is broken, then the world is through,
And every noble structure starts to fall.
The starry heavens shine above my head,
The moral law is carved within my breast;
By duty’s quiet whisper I am led,
To give the weary world its truest best.
Not for the prize, nor fear of any rod—
But for the Right, the only path to God.
