Perenial delay tactics seemed to have puncture the administration of criminal justice in Nigeria. However, legal effortswere made to ensure speedy trials in the efficient management of the criminal trials,in the country. Several years ago,in order to achieve this aim,the administration of criminal justice act(ACJA) 2015 was churned out to attend to this descrepancies and it seeks purposely,to revolutionise its administration. Now,it is clear and indisputable that ACJA recognises the need to avert this delay tactics been worrisome defects in the criminal justice system.Research has shown by legal practitioners, the delays in most cases, occur in the way in which lawyers invariably explores legal loopholes to frustrate trials,by often filling frivolous applications and objections in the trial court. So,prior to the enactment of the act,the average time a criminal trial proceeding takes is about four to six years.Note these such asfactors such as the pedigree of lawyers, status of accused person and offence by nature.
