This trend nevertheless ingrained with intense competition,is not without its attendant problems,in which fake products of suspect quality proliferated,infiltrating the market as players struggle to dominate each other and itching for market shares.Extant multiple regulatory standards adopted by exporters,including lack of adequate security measures,during product evolution by drug producers to forestall fake products and counterfeiting.Right from before 1957 to the immediate post indepedence era of 60s,regarded as a foundation laying era,the industry having its own fair share of tortuos path,has matured and endured,down to the harrowing empiricism of the 80s and 90s,into the near blissful era of the 2000s onward.This tortuous path traversed,seemed to distinguish the industry,though the same with other developing countries.The evolution has taken place over time in five phases,beginning from pre1957 era,as the phase one,snowballed into phase two-1957-1980,and then phase three that came between 1980-1982.
