PHAMARCEUTICAL INDUSTRY AND EVOLUTION IN NIGERIA.PART 13

He categorised them as'trading train"and "struggling industry"as marketers for foreign firms,or production outsourced to China,India or Asian firms and make bold to say 60percent of 300 corporate members of the Nigerian Association Of Industrial Phamarcists(NAIP)in Lagos, which organisedtheforum, where the speech wasdelivered, are traders in the distribution and the marketing segment.Today, seven years after this speech, the augean stable, still yet to be cleansed. If they cannot compete against the asian firms, what good is it,to a dying nation of ours. They have better cost advantages than us and we cannot stop them coming in and retaining their leading their position, giving our signatories and obligations under general aggreement on trade and tarrif( GATT) and World Trade Organisation(WTO).We are stuck in the inflow, given the incapabily of the govt.to protect home industry. I am not surprised only a hundred aggreement have they been able haphazardly implemented out of the over six hundred aggreements signed so far
