The heavy clouds assemble in the dark,And thunder rolls across the velvet sky,A sudden flash provides a brilliant spark,As racing winds begin to wail and sigh. The earth drinks deep the rain's refreshing mark,While frightened birds in hasty circles fly,And though the tempest leaves a chilling mark,It clears the air and lifts the spirits high. The storm will cease before the morning breaks,The shattered branches scatter on the ground,And from the gloom, a fresh new world awakes,With vibrant colors waiting to be found. So too, the storms that tear our peace apart,Will leave a clearer, stronger, braver heart
