The Timeless Art

Sonnet III: The Timeless Art

I sought to capture time within a verse,To freeze the passing moment on the page,And weave a spell, a poetic universe,That would survive the turning of the age.The ink flows darkly as the shadows fall,And shapes the fleeting feelings of the heart,A quiet, stubborn, and defiant call,To build a monument of living art.For seasons change and kingdoms pass away,And mortal beauty fades into the dust,But written words will always find a wayTo keep the promises we safely trust. As long as breath remains and eyes can see,These lines will hold a piece of you and me.
