The Weaver's Hours

Sonnet 1: The Weaver's Hours
The golden sun retreats behind the hill,And paints the fading sky in shades of gray. The weary world at last is calm and still,To wash the restless thoughts of toil away.Yet in the quiet chambers of the night,The weaving mind begins its complex task,And spins the threads of memory and light,Behind the heavy, unassuming mask.We count the fleeting moments that we borrow,And wonder where the hurried years have flown,Uncertain of the dawn of each tomorrow,We reap the scattered seeds that we have sown.Though all our fleeting days must finally end,The gentle tapestry of love will mend.
Sonnet 2: The Urban Tide
The Lagos traffic beats a heavy drum,A rhythmic pulse that echoes in the street,Where vendors shout and engines start to hum,And countless hurried strangers come and meet.Above the noise, the ocean winds will blow,And bring a salty coolness to the air,The pulsing city moves its steady flow,With stories of ambition and despair.Beneath the concrete towers touching skies,The ancient spirit of the land remains,Reflected in the market’s watchful eyes,That triumph over all our daily pains.Through every winding road and crowded lane,The vibrant heart of life will beat again.

Sonnet 3: Echoes in the Dust
A silent ship upon a glassy sea,Is guided by the distant, starry gleam,It travels through the dark infinity,And sails into the harbor of a dream. The tempest roars and tries to break the mast,But still the captain holds the steady wheel,To weather every sorrow of the past,And forge a strength that only time can heal. The tallest monuments of stone will fall,And empires turn to dust upon the ground,But truth and beauty will outlive them all,Whenever peace and harmony are found.Though eras fade and all things must decay,The written word will never pass away.
