The Infinite Thread

The Infinite Thread

A tailor pulled a loose red thread from the hem of an old wool jacket. He tugged gently, expecting it to snap, but it kept coming. He walked backward across his shop, spinning the spool, but the thread didn't end. By midnight, the thread had wound through his doorway, down the street, and around the town square. When he finally stopped pulling, he noticed the jacket hadn't lost a single stitch, but the entire town was now subtly connected by a single, glowing red line.
