Sonnet 1: The Modern Muse
When glowing screens replace the stars of night,And silent echoes fill the empty room,I seek the warmth of your elusive light,To chase away the encroaching shades of gloom. The hurried world spins on in blind decay,With fleeting shadows dancing in the street,But in your eyes, I find a quiet sway,Where heavy hearts and gentle rhythms meet.Let ticking clocks declare our time is brief,And winter winds strip branches of their pride,In your embrace, I find a sweet relief,A harbor where the restless soul may hide.Though ages pass and empires turn to dust,In every word, I leave my love and trust.
