Sonnet I: The Modern Midnight
The glow of screens replaces candlelight,As weary souls search through the digital deep,We trade the quiet mysteries of the nightFor endless scrolling, putting truth to sleep. The algorithms guide our every tread,And feed us shadows in a glowing stream,While genuine moments wither and are dead,Replaced by the illusions of a dream.Yet somewhere in the dark, a window breaks,The cool and quiet wind begins to blow,The weary mind from its distraction wakes,And finds the steady, fading afterglow.Put down the phone, look up and softly smile; The simple, breathing world is worth the while
