The Brass Key
Leo found a heavy brass key in his old garden dirt. It was cold, but it felt warm where he held it. He walked to the old oak tree at the edge of his yard. There was no door on the tree, only a deep knot hole. He pushed the key inside the hole. It turned with a soft click. Suddenly, the evening air smelled like sea salt and sweet lemons, and the sound of crashing waves echoed from inside the trunk, though the ocean was a hundred miles away.
